1. Purpose of Fact-Checking

RE-FIT aims to publish accurate, useful and responsible information for learners, fitness professionals, institutions and partners worldwide.

Fact-checking is used to reduce factual errors, unsupported claims, outdated information and misleading interpretation.

2. What We Check

Depending on the content, verification may include:

  • Names, dates, locations and organizational details
  • Course titles, fees, delivery mode and availability
  • Examination, certification and learner-access information
  • Statistics, research findings and numerical claims
  • Health, exercise, nutrition and performance statements
  • Professional standards, legal references and industry guidance
  • Partnership eligibility, scope and promotional claims
  • Quotations, testimonials, accreditations and institutional references

3. Source Standards

Sources should be selected according to relevance, credibility, date and context. Suitable sources may include official institutions, government publications, recognized professional bodies, peer-reviewed research, textbooks, standards, public records and verified RE-FIT first-party information.

Anonymous, promotional or low-quality sources should not be treated as equal to authoritative evidence without additional verification.

4. Statistics and Research Claims

Statistics should be checked for original source, publication date, sample, geography, methodology and relevance to the claim being made.

  • Correlation should not be presented as causation.
  • Research limitations should not be concealed.
  • Outdated numbers should be replaced, qualified or removed.
  • Single studies should not be presented as universal consensus.

5. Health, Fitness and Nutrition Content

Health-related information requires additional care because inaccurate claims may influence personal decisions.

  • General education should not be presented as individual medical advice.
  • Diagnosis, treatment and guaranteed results should not be claimed.
  • Risk, contraindication and individual variation should be acknowledged where relevant.
  • Readers should be encouraged to seek qualified professional advice when appropriate.

6. Course and Certification Information

Course names, fees, online delivery, examination process, certificate access and related public claims should be checked against current RE-FIT records before publication or major update.

No content should imply guaranteed employment, income, licensing, immigration approval or universal recognition.

7. Partnerships and Institutional Claims

Partnership descriptions should clearly distinguish between application, approval, private affiliation, promotional collaboration and formal contractual rights.

Government, regulatory, academic or accreditation status should not be implied unless it can be verified and accurately described.

8. Testimonials, Reviews and Success Stories

Testimonials should be based on genuine experiences and published with appropriate permission. Individual outcomes should not be presented as typical or guaranteed.

Ratings or aggregate review data should only be used when the underlying information is authentic and capable of being substantiated.

9. Distinguishing Fact, Opinion and Promotion

Factual claims should be verifiable. Expert interpretation, opinion, personal experience and promotional statements should be clearly distinguishable from established facts.

Commercial relationships or RE-FIT service promotion should not be concealed where disclosure is relevant to reader understanding.

10. Artificial Intelligence and Digital Tools

Artificial intelligence and digital tools may assist with research organization, drafting or editing, but they are not treated as authoritative sources.

AI-assisted content should be reviewed by a responsible person for factual accuracy, context, originality, source quality and suitability before publication.

11. Corrections and Disputed Claims

If a material error is identified, RE-FIT may correct, clarify, update, redirect or remove the affected content.

Disputed claims should be reviewed using available evidence. Where reliable sources disagree, the uncertainty or differing positions may be explained rather than presenting one view as settled fact.

12. Report a Factual Concern

Readers may report a suspected error, outdated statistic, unsupported claim or source concern through the official contact page.

Please include the page URL, disputed statement and any reliable supporting source.
